I read about this last week. The plane should be repairable but it'll need alot of time on the ground until its fit to fly again. I wonder if ANA will scrap it given the fact that they're retiring the 767s from their fleet anyway.

Hard to say I know for a fact that several C-5 and at least 1 C-17 had some very rough landings some even had gear failures and after some time in the hanger they flew again.

One of my tech school instructors was a C-5 crew chief the people responsible for aircraft maintenance he saw a C-5 have an engine failure just after take off the pilots managed to turn the plane around and make an emergency landing they had to land at a higher than normal speed and it broke the nose gear and the plane skidded on its nose for some distance in addition to having touched down roughly.They removed the plane put it in a hanger inspected it fixed her up and she as far as I know still flies today.It all depends on how much and what kind of damage occurred some is repairable some is not or costs more than the plane is wroth.

My guess is that the 767 will get sold to some airline in Russia for cheap.My guess is that the pilot and co-pilot are out of a job unless that landing was unavoidable.

Actually quite the opposite many air frames large ones in particular are immensely strong you would be surprised the stress that many air frames can withstand and not fall apart(which is the goal not to fall apart)That the 767 did not break up shows that it is indeed strong.

Also some recent studies on the Titanics hull indicate that it too was actually quite strong it stayed afloat for quite some time with much strain on its hull and it did not turn over which is quite common even with modern ships.She held up well given the amount of water that she took on personally I think that it was in certain groups interest to blame the ship and not the stupidity of not having enough life boats and of sailing in iceberg laden waters that is asking for trouble no matter how well the ship is designed and made.

Good thing the wings don't snap off. The 777 wing test got to 154% of its designed load limit before it snapped. Or in a better indication of how strong they're built to be, that's about 24 feet worth of deflection.

Reminds me of one of the oldest of old flyer jokes

One day the pilot of a Cherokee was told by the tower to hold short of the active runway while a DC-8 landed. The DC-8 landed, rolled out, turned around, and taxied back past the Cherokee.
