RFB 2.0 without anything else installed...
That said:

1.) the upgrades for the S-18 conning tower aren't showing up in June 43
2.) my Balao-class doesn't have but 4500 nm range at ahead standard

2) Go Ahead Slow on the faster boats for maximum range. Not sure about 1.

Best overall speed for travel in a fleet boat is 10 knots.

OK, so I just have to manually set the cruise speed... agitating but realistic. :-?


What about the upgrades to the conning tower and the 20mm?
I had planned to go till '44 in the S-class since I intended to stay in the Asiatic fleet and the S-class is perfect for that theater in spite of being absolutely obsolete.:yeah: Having the 20mm is very important for killing fishing boats and sampans. I never engage aircraft anyway, so that's a moot point.

I think this is just the way the game is coded. If you do well, you are usually offered a new boat instead of a upgrade. To put it another way, the game doesn't know you want to keep the same boat; it assumes you prefer a new boat, to an upgrade.

I thought that it was supposed to show up in the 'boat options' screen, like deck guns and radar. I was looking under the wrench icon there for the conning tower upgrades.

Oh, well... I wanted to deck my little girl out in the finest available before sending her home for training duty. Got over 15,000 renown that I have been saving for a rainy day.

I think it will show up in the 'boat options' screen, as you say, but only after the game decides to offer it. At least that is how I think it works. Maybe someone with more detailed knowlage will clarify how this works. I'm not sure that AA guns, radar are handled the same way as a new tower. I may be confusing different aspects of the game.
