All,
Just getting back into the game with a new computer after several years away. I downloaded the GWX Gold mod, and when I went to confirm the latest patch (1.4b), Webroot stopped the opening of the exe, claiming it was a rootkit malware. I am thinking this is a mistake on Webroot's part, but I wanted to confirm it before I allow the exe to run. I sent a note to Webroot, hoping they would accept the file for analysis to confirm it's safe, but haven't heard back. I am hoping someone here's had the same problem and can put my mind at ease... Anyone?
Thanks in advance.

Webroot does that for other exes too. I ran Webroot had the same problem... but no longer as I got rid of it. Now running Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and does a great job for virus and malware protection. I've been using it for a couple of years and won't go back to paying for virus/malware protection ever again.

Here's the link..... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

I suggest you give it a try and see how you like it. Shut down Webroot tho to run it. MSE will normally run a quick scan weekly, but do a Full scan and see what it picks up. It also picks up Trojans when they hit your computer and will get rid of them when prompted to do so, or at the end of a Full scan
