Mission Editor for Naval War: Arctic Circle Released! + New Trailer

Dominate Your Enemies Above, Upon and Beneath the Open Seas.
Change the Future Again.

Stockholm, JUNE 8th 2012 - With your mastery of the seas assured and your control over the world's most powerful weapons amply demonstrated, it is time for the student to now become the teacher - time to design new challenges and new scenarios as others prepare for war at the top of the world.

Paradox Interactive and Turbo Tape Games today announced that it will support the mod community with today's release of the new mission editor for Naval War: Arctic Circle.

The mission editor is added for free to all gamers and the greatest ships that ever sailed the seas can now be given new orders and assigned new missions as you devise new ways to test the limits of men and machines: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse?appid=200050

To celebrate the occasion a new trailer has been released!

Naval War: Arctic Circle is a real time naval wargame set in the near future that uses accurate profiles of Atlantic powers, their ships and aircraft. With the mission editor, you get access to all units in the game, and the ability to create your own missions anywhere in the North Atlantic Ocean. Steam Workshop enables fluid sharing of your custom missions with other players.

And it's on sale, currently half price but may get another, day-long price drop depending on how long this Paradox sale goes on.

Did you notice the "flying" ports in the 3d view after you placed them in the shore in certain northern areas? They lay at minimum 100 feet above sea level. UFO landing zone? New Varsaw Pact secret base layout? :D
I will apreciate some comments on this issue.
Good editing!

So, looking through the editor, it doesn't appear that you can edit the existing games or campaigns, which is a bit of a let down. I personally would like to tweak what's contained within and play all scenarios to complete elimination instead of stated goal standards.

If anyone can figure out how to access the stock game files, please let us know soonest.

If you installed Steam to its default folder, you can find the scenario files in:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\naval war arctic circle\Mods\NWAC\BattleSets\Scenarios

I use Notepad to open and modify them

Oh, but you cannot use the editor to interface with the included scenarios?

Interesting, just opened mine up and there is nothing in my Battlesets/Scenarios folder to edit or modify. Bizarre. I'll have to look into this a bit more. The game plays the scenarios and campaigns without any issues, so really bizarre.

Find the scenario files and copy them into:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\naval war arctic circle\CustomScenarios

Then, you can use the Open File command found in the Editor. You can probably browse to different folders, too. I didn't check.

Do a search for: Scenario_c01s05.nwscenario
and you will know which folder your scenarios reside.

Probably because their are Steam achievements tied to the stock missions - I imagine they don't want people tinkering with them to make them easier to get.

No, the stock scenarios can be modified in the same manner as user-created scenarios.

Anybody made any good missions? I made a few after getting it off Steam.

I found a few of them pretty decent:

Baltic Bash
Barents Patrol 2
Scottish Civil War

I just bought this game on steam at 75% off 1 day sale.
I would assume the editor was included, hopefully.....
