Well after about 4 months of playing SH3 and trolling this forum I decided to create a acount. Up until now if I had a problem or a question all I had to do was come to this forum search a little and boom problem solved. I search for a answer to these questions but couldn't find anything (might of missed it thought some times I get in a hurry sorry). My questions are as follows,

1-I went to install GWX and it informed me I needed to rollback my sh3 to install. But when I go into SH3 it still installed, there has been no problems so far but is this going to come back and bite me later?

2-This one is a question that is probably spawned by ignorance of the game but is slightly anoying. 2 hour hunt at depth silent running almost ready to make my attack run set a waypoint on the map (probably tried to get in too close) and despite the fact that from the moment I aquired the targets I stayed silent and undetected my chief engineer decides to get to this waypoint we need to go ahead standard. I got straight owned. Restart and replicate this 4 times just to make sure that this is what was going on before I posted. Is this just a flaw in the game mechanics or am I just not doing something right being new to the game?

3-I origally was having problems with a wide screen moniter nothing I tried worked until I just changed my display settings to a size sh3 likes.(Duh I feel like Mental Midget after that one he he he)

Can't answer the first question, but I'll try the second. If you set a way point and then reach it the telegraph goes to all stop. Doesn't matter if you are on silent running or not. If you now set a new way point with the engines stopped the telegraph will go to ahead standard even if you are on silent running. Just the way the game is. In the situation that you described, the way around this is to first set your speed, ahead slow or one knot, then set the way point. The telegraph will then stay at that speed. Hope this helps.

Oh and a very warm welcome.:salute:

Your navigator will run at standard If you set waypoints. When making an attack run, always navigate manually. Draw lines and such by hand on the map and follow those, not way points. Use way points to plan your entire patrol course, not fine minutiae

Thank you for the info and the welcome I figured it was doing something wrong usually once I am that close I do manually pilot for some reason I didn't that time, well I guess you live and you learn.
