View Full Version : Can't update SH5 to version 1.2

Dear subsim members, I have a SH5 version 1.0.5 (as stated on top right screen). I can't seem to be able to upgrade to version 1.2, even while using the gui.exe. Therefore I can't enjoy the mods. Any suggestions is most welcomed, thanks.:hmmm:

Look in folder : C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\data\UL\UpgradeLauncher

I did. It says 'missing URLs' and 'missing version targets'. :wah:

When I needed to update, I had to get it from the internet as the auto game updater only updated my game to 1.1 or the like. To get to 1.2 I needed to manually install it.

I still can't do it! It says - needs previous version of SH installed. What's wrong?

you must need the 1.1 update first then the 1.2 will work.

otherwise uninstall, remove any remaining files, then reinstall the game and start over new

Go to the ubisoft website and look for game patches. Download it that way and execute the patch that way.

OMG!! For a second or two I thought that BIGREG and some of the old team were back on the SH5 forum!!! :wah:

For anyone having the problem described in the op:

(I think it will happen if you install the game to a directory other than the default one)

Go to the gu.exe (Support/GameUpdater/gu.exe)

Run it. Although it says it has updated, it actually hasnīt, but the updater is kept in users/yourname/AppData/Local/temp/ubi58AD.tmp

Run it. Now the game properly updates to v1.2
