TDC stands for "target data computer". It is a simulated analog computer into which is entered the various inputs required to compute a firing solution for your torpedoes and, if you've entered the required data correctly, allow you to fire your torpedo at the correct moment to hit your target.

To make the game quickly more functional and understandable this is the first place you should go;
