View Full Version : Summer is here!
This time last week it was snowing at my mums. Today it is about 25 degrees centigrade. Fair enough, my parents live in the highlands, and it once snowed there in June when I was still in school, but still, What a turn around.
I cannot wait for tomorrow evening. Get off work, find a beer garden and just chill in the warmth. I love the summer.
And yes, I write this knowing full well next week it will once again feel like we live in the artic. Just let me enjoy this whilst it lasts. :|\\

Ah, summer, love the heat and sunny skies. Come to Texas, we get 7 months of it. :shucks:
7 months....we'll be lucky to get 7 days here.
Neal or mods, I've just noticed this is in entirely the wrong board. Would it be possible to move this to the general forum? Wouldn't want to confuse anyone coming here to read up on the continuing adventures of Frau's Skyrim wedding soap opera.
Been a great weather here for the past few weeks, sunny and temps climbing up
to ~20C.

I wondered what'd happened to her, last seen buying Skyrim and now posts in GT are few and far between.

Bugs? More like Neds. But that might just be Glasgow. :D It's to continue into next week too. Lush. I need to get me some decent beer.

I've had my window open 24/7 since February. :DL

Summer is terrible! Terrible, I say! Entirely way too hot... :dead:

Also, spiders. And grass... it grows.

Also, spiders.
They eat the flies, I like spiders. As long as they don't get in my way with their webs.

But the things are attracted to my desk. Prolly the warm air from the PC. I can't relax with something as big as my hand creeping up the wall 1-2ft from me. :dead:
Not talking about them skinny-legged ones. I mean those fat hunting spiders. I've seen them so big I could see the fangs on 'm. I'm just not too excited about anything that won't comfortably fit under a shoe.

Top tip, don't know how it works but it does - place conkers* in the corners of your room and other places that you want protecting (?) from spiders. Obviously you'll now have to wait until autumn to get some but bear it in mind - it really does work. :yep:

I'll keep that in mind. Don't mind too much if they keep to themselfs, it's just when they encroach on my personal space that we have a problem. :D
Had a giant flight of bees take a journey through the garden earlier. Like something out of a film, the noise! Needless to say we evacuated the garden quickly, and luckily they didn't stay for long. They came back going the other way later.
Luckily on both times the wife wasn't here, she can't stand them. :O:

Ireland gets some sun for a change which means a bit of heat.
In typical fashion its the week I am out on an island with no running water.

Aye lets make the most of it because I have no doubt that it will be pissing down next week :yep:
There's a bunch of cute student girls drinking beer in the garden on the other side of the lane, across from my house, It's warm. I've been good and gone to the gym and now I have a bottle of Peroni gran reserva to drink. It's almost as chilled and nice as it was when I was in Madrid a few weeks ago.
Life is good. Summer is ace. Beer + Sun + Girls. :sunny:

Summer doesn't start till 21 June. :O:
And anyways, since I work in 110-130' heat, anything less than 100 feels cool and refreshing. That's about 45c, and 39c.
Hooray for summer... :yeah:
Now I can't sleep...stupid heat... :damn:
Summer is here! It's certainly not here, had to wash the ice off the windscreen this morning!! I want summer back!!:wah:

Summer here translates to daily rainstorms(some being only 5-10 minutes long), humidity levels of 60-90%(which the rainstorms don't help), the feeling of being stuck in a sauna outside,Insects and lots and lots of mosquitoes.
We get plenty of small mosquitoes, and then big ones like this:

Banana Spiders:

We also get water beetles:

And these little glow beetles(the only good bug to come around this time):

Can we please have an ice-age!:dead:
It's even nicer than yesterday. It's hotter but there is a nice cool breeze to keep things in check and the humidity at bay.
Three hours until the Beer Garden, although I think I shall be drinking Gin and Tonic tonight. I'm just in the mood for a G+T.

Another six months till we get summer. Oh well at least it won't snow this winter. At least not where I live.

Nuts a weather thread...I'm out of here. :03:
No, it's a summer thread, in which we discuss all the things that are great about summer, like girls in tiny skirts, cold beer on a hot day, swimming in rivers, the fact sandwiches taste better outside, and girls in tiny skirts.
Ah summer. Sweet, sweet summer. Truly you are the season of letching. I think Shakespear wrote that.

Old Will had a thing for girls in tiny skirts. And bikinis. And birthday suits.

I'll never read The Taming of the Shrew in the same way again!
Enough! There is a Hendricks and Tonic with my name on it awaiting me and I can't get at it for an hour! Friday! Thoust cruelest of days, release me into yon boozy arms!

Sod politics, I like where this tiny-skirted thread is going. :D

Summers here, and I am now done with high school! Ah what a great day!
Mt boss has gone home! What a sod, he was only in for about a hour all day. I can't think of another human being who is so undeserving of getting out early on a sunny day. It's not as if the ultraviolet is going to help his grey palour any. When he's wearing his favourite polyester suit you can't tell where it ends and his neck and face begin....that's not right.
And here I am, ready for adventure and drinking in the balmy evening, ever a cheeky Shakespearian quote ready on my lips, and he's the one who goes early.

Tonight I'll be starting off with Magners and finishing off with ice coool lager.
and girls in tiny skirts.
In Summer the girls might dress skimpier, but in Winter they need ways to get warm. ;)

As the temperature rises, so doth the sap. I think Pliny wrote that....in pub now, sevetal G n Ts and pints of IPA to the better. Ah, summer. Tiny skirts all over the shop!
No, it's a summer thread
Summer is weather, I have yet to see a weather forecast leaving summer out. :haha:

YES. :har:
This fine summer weather is brought to you by Dave's summery co-altion to make you forget that by autumn your boss will be able to fire you because he doesn't like your haircut!
