My boss is kind of a historian. He knows about me playing Silent Hunter 3 and 4 and recommended a few books for me. 2 of them are "Clear the Bridge" and "Operation Drumbeat" I'm about halfway through Clear the Bridge. What an amazing story. Afterwards I plan on diving into Operation Drumbeat and the patrols of Reinhard Hardegen on the American East Coast. Any other naval stories recommended? I also have "Run Silent, Run Deep" and "Iron Coffins"

Read Beach's continuation of "Run SIlent, Run Deep" called "Dust on the Sea". Continues where RSRD left off. He also wrote "Cold is the Sea" which is the third book in the "trilogy" which takes place during the cold war with the same characters. Of course, read his "Submarine" which is full of true stories of US Fleet Boats in WWII, including his personal experiences.

When you finish "Operation Drumbeat", try Gannon"s "Black May". Very good as well. was a real eye opener at times.

If you liked Clear the Bridge, could try Wahoo:

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I didn't even know RSRD had a continuation. And yeah I've been thinking about buying Wahoo. I'll have to see if the Subsim dot com Amazon link has it available so I can donate money to the site.
