Ghelo again .
in some topics i have seen some people talking about anti sub net's and mines .
now im playing campain mode version 1.4 so is this the reason why i don't encounter them ?
+ is it posible to carry a mine on your submarine ?

You know when a subnet is around when errrrrrr, I'm to scared to say what happens. Mines, there are mine fields but they only have one mine per KM, if you want mines and subnets get TMO. In operation Monsun and Battle for the Baltics you can get mines on your sub.

For the antisub nets and mines, I think only the supermods like RFB, and TMO have them.
As for carrying mines, you do in way carry them, when the Mk 27 Cutie becomes available. Not very powerful though as they only have something like 95lbs of explosive in the warhead.
But no, not to my knowledge do you do any minelaying in the game.

You will see nets on larger ports. They are positioned in such a way that you cannot get close enough to large harboured ships without hitting the net. It will cause a lot of damage.

In stock when Japanese take Manila (at least in Asiatic campaign) and if you manage to get a mission to go photograph them or something you'll hit a net and mines.
The port has kinda quarter circle looking net and randomly mines around it, you need a fistful of bad luck to hit a mine but if you're running deep (or well.. as deep as you can in harbor which is probably periscope depth +/- a meter or 2) you will probably hit the net so you have to surface to get over it and even then it may hit you.
I got my S-18 inside the port but swam out of there... The game didn't end but the movement of my sub did.. :damn:

you cannot surface and drive over them, DONT TRY IT!!! previous post above is WRONG.....destroyers can, but your draft is the entire pressure hull, its way to deep even surfaced.....i would like to see a deep draft transport drive into a sub net and see what happens lol

Heh, once time with subnets I was trying to get somewhere where there was lots of big ships, but sub nets got in the way. I actully slid my sub on top of the net while half beaching myself so I could get over it. It worked :arrgh!:

No, you cant get over one that is set at proper depth, but they're are a few places in game where the net is low enough you can get over it, though u may rub it and do some mild damge. It may be possible to get over a higher one, seems I tried it, hit it at flank speed and kept going, eventually your ship will warp into the net like what happens when you ram a ship and stay connected...push long enough you can get through, but often with severe damage, but many mods that have reworked damage zones, not likely.
They're are a few u can get over at Palau, the Marshalls, etc..thing is is to find where they dip down.

As I said..

So yes, it's not very advisable to try going over them. I also think that they stop torpedoes quite effectively so if you're behind one and shooting you'll probably just waste your torps.. Would be interesting to see battleship or something being lured into one, worth a try :arrgh!:

I know in super mod sub nets are common, and for this reason I think someone needs to make like a upgrade pack and give it net cutters like the jap midget subs had at pearl!
As for mines, I've only found them in the missions I've made because I set them there lol

i once had a recon mission of a random battleship force photoshoot at Koror in the palau islands....im glad i saved before i went in, because with the fog/overcast/rain/**** visibility i plowed head on into a sub net at 9 knots....which promptly did around 90% damage and killed around half of my crew as well as me becoming stuck on it, which when i tried to go back 1/3 the rest of the death blow was delivered and that career "ended".....
so....i loaded the save file and ended up running into the fence again, but i visually spotted it from the bridge just in time to avoid a collision. From there i paralleled it @ decks awash until i found an opening and proceeded into the harbor (the whole time i was laying markings on the nav map to "draw" out the approximate location of the thing.
funny part was, once i got inside the net i forgot i was still decks awash and proceeded to creep into visibility range of a fuso battleship that promptly saw my conning tower and blasted my sub to kingdom come!.....
suffice it to say, i always am perticularly cautious now when given photo recon missions or just straying into harbors.

Yes, and even asterisks are frowned upon.

Neal Stevens, the site owner, set up the rules originally because his young daughters visited sometimes. We still get a lot of members who are very young, and we ask that everyone comport themselves as responsible adults.
We had an unspoken rule back when I was in: Never in front of civilians, especially women and children.
