I just got finished sinking 2 shokoku flattop's, as well as a large minelayer and 2 zinbu class tankers! It was sooo much fun. In all i sank 5 Warships and 11 Merchants on this patrol for around 115K tons. I love this TMO2.5 & RSRDC COMBINATION. i TIP MY cAPTAIN,S CAP OFF TO Mr. Ducimus & Mr. Lurker for their extrodinary efforts on these wonderful mods.:arrgh!::arrgh!::arrgh!::arrgh!:

Nice job! I just finished a Coral Sea encounter in the S-boat, much less successfully. Stumbled into the Tulagi invasion force near Rabaul, but could not close. Damaged one light cruiser with my last torpedoes, northeast of Port Moresby and then ... ran like hell.

Coral Sea is great fun in RSRDC. Fleets all over the place....

\Very nice, it's one battle I have never really been involved in, always found it difficult to find the forces I want due to lack of radar at that point. However, I did once catch the "wounded bear" in RSRD heading home after the battle, I sunk her.For some reason Lurker has her alone by default but I added a couple DD's to escort her, seas were heavy so they were not too much trouble.Think I will try Coral Sea next time I go looking for one of the big battles.

I noticed the lone shokaku carrier in the mission files also...i wonder if the japs really sent her back to japan un escorted like that? i do find that highly unlikely, but you never know considering it was a combat action and they might have needed the ships or had ample air cover for her

Yea, Coral Sea is fun, if you time it right you can attack the Shoho TF, then the two carrier TF giving batte and head to Rabaul in time to catch the returning Port Moresby invasion force. Course nothing beats all the action near Savo late 42, Battle of Savo, GC, Eastern Solomons, Santa Cruz and several others....some nights so many TF coming at ya not sure what to do.

I caught the Shokoku returning home alone, really was shocked as I was in the Bungo and here comes a lone carrier at high speed. I had to shoot at long range doing a night surface an scored hits. I later shot my last 3 torps, two hit the carrier, one circled on me and sunk me. I got to see Shokoku sink just before I died,.....one peod camper.

No, she had escorts, I added some since it really bugged me she was lacking escorts, as in RL "Wounded Bear" proceeded home at high speed with DD's (one was the Ushio) and avoided a string of US subs sent to hunt her down.

Something I wish SH had, was if you could give a target "pre damage" I remember back in CFS two you can have a enemy unit start out with damage to simulate damage from previous engagements, would be nice if Shokaku came along en route to Japan with bomb damage to her deck as she had in RL.

ya i agree....when i saw the %'s next to the ship names in the mission editor i thought that was the heath percentage, but oh well, it wasnt

Yea, that would be nice, predamage, the strange thing is I see it sometime. I attacked Kurita in the Bern and damaged one Yamato, but escorts kept me down and I took mass damage using Travs mod. The group got away an despawned. I waited for it to come back the next day, it did that night, but two of the CA's were on fire and both Yamatos absent. I let them go due to mass damage....not long here come both Y's about 15nm's behind, one of fire, one listing......thought how strange. Even lagging behind it was still part of the TF, but 4 ships looked like they just gave battle........Don't see it a lot, but it does happen, no idea what causes it.

Just like I wish I could figure the AI, if you're sensed by escorts, many groups go into the small zig pattern, slowing down at the same speed, yet other convoys split up and go off in many directions at different speeds and regroup later, much more realistic behavior.

im guessing they probably just came under an air attack. Center force has a lot of allied air strikes to navigate through.

Other than that i dont have any idea what could have caused that. I have never come across previously damaged ships
