Hi all, have been having a few problems trying to work out exactly where I am! I have installed TDW's real navigation mod v2.0 from memory and I can't work out how to get the navigator to plot my position on the map via dead reckoning?
I don't think I'm going to be very capable of using the sextant to do it myself and I figure that's why I took a navigator! Is there any way of getting him to do it? (as in the tutorial video by stoianm, I think it was an earlier version?)
Lastly just a massive TY to all the guys who have spent so much time making this game 200 times what it was when I bought it! It was awful without the mods!
Thanks
Trevally.

Click on the Nav officer at the bottom of your screen and select reports.
Then pick the type of fix that you want him to do.
You can also have this done automatically
REAL NAVIGATION auto position
This auto script is for use with TDWs Real Navigation. UI v6.0 required.
Real Nav Auto Fix Patrol - This will auto report Celestial postion 5 times per day & Dead Reckoning every 2 hours.
This can be run from your automation button (Real Navigation - Position on Patrol - Real Nav Auto Fix).
As these scripts use a "wait for time" command, choose the script that matches your local time. (i.e. 04-08 = start script between 0400 and 0800 local time)
When it starts the Navigator will carry out a celestial fix (weather permitting) and plot on your map. Then each 2 hours he will carry out a dead reckoning fix and mark your map giving you a total of 12 position fixes per day.
The 5 celestial check per day are:-
1) Pre-dawn twilight
2) Ante Meridian (AM) Sun.
3) Noon Sun
4) Post Meridian (PM) Sun
5) Post Sunset twilight
Real Nav Auto Fix Battle Stations
This will auto report Dead Reckoning every 5mins.
You must already have a celestial fix before using this.

If you're just starting out playing the game I don't suggest starting with real nav enabled. Learn the game and mods and their intricacies first then enable real nav :yep:

That might have to be, can't work out how to plot a course now! Didn't want to lose too much of the realism though.
Great work on the Mods guys!
I am going to have to learn a bit more about how to be a sub commander, haven't played any sub sims since silent service on the NES, and I was about 6 back then :)

It couldnt be easier . Install real navigation as per the instructions . Then install Trevallys auto scripts .
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/downloads.php?do=file&id=3098
At the start of the game enable the real navigation auto script and the navigator will put an x on the navmap every 2 hours . Just use the compass to travel in the direction you want to go .
