Great shots. I really need to do this in my game. My grandfather was in this engagement (Night battle of Guadalcanal on the 13 November). He was the commo officer aboard the USS Aaron Ward. He later told my father that within minutes of the battle beginning, they didn't know who was friendly and who was foe. He's certain they took friendly fire and dished some out as well. It was total chaos.

Bubblehead, you gotta pop these into the screenie thread! They get lost too quickly in the general population threads.
Those are great too!

Oh wow, would be interesting to talk to him I am sure.Lurker did a pretty nice job of simulating the battles, unless you attack before and interrupt their timing, they arrive on time, fight, then leave pretty much as per history, it's great.A lot of work, I have fooled with the ME to get the timing right for certain groups I have added, PITA! Next battle I plan to observe is at the Komandorski Islands in March of 43.Sure I ll get some shots.

Sorry, I should have specified. He was on DD-483, Gleaves class. After they returned to the States for repairs, for damaged sustained during the night battle of November 13, they came back to the Guadalcanal area and were involved in several more engagements. The ship was eventually sunk by a dive bomber on April 7 1943 near Tulagi while covering USS LST-449, which consequently was carrying John F. Kennedy at the time. He did make it off the ship luckily ( or I would not be here). He passed in 1999 and rarely ever spoke of the war. I wish I could have talked to him about it. I have so many questions now.
