Night of November 14th/15th: Patrolled the sound and close to midnight a forced of IJN BB's and cruisers screened by DD's and CL's raced by, I fired at a Kuma CL and hit her with two fish, one blew the tip of her bow off, the other hit her amidships under a stack and set off a large fireball, she soon went adrift. The DD's soon paid me back, an intense and accurate depth charging knocked me around and caused some damage. After 10 minutes, the sound of lare naval guns were everywhere.I came to scope depth and observed the DD's in a battle.I then went to external view, the two, new US battleships with DDs(Admiral Lee's force) were arrriving and blasted through the screening vessels with ease, one US DD was set afire but kept moving, multiple IJN DD's were lost. The main body of the IJN had not yet arrived, this was the screening force, my torpedo attack upset the screen vessels route.

I went to radar depth and kept track of the US ships as they moved swiftly through. Before long I had more contacts, it was main body, a large IJN battleships, two heavy cruisers, several DD's.A large, intense, near point blank battle ensued. After it ended, several USS DD's were sunk or dead in the water and would later sink. One US BB was damaged but not destroyed. The IJN BB listed and exploded after being pounded, one CA was lost, the others left the area and the battle was over.Soon four large transport ships arrived, the remainder of those attacked by the planes in the daylight.(note, they are set to beach themselves as they did in real life) I attacked and sank one Nagara Maru with my final two torpedoes. The others zigged on and believe they beached themselves. The intense battle was over.Really awseome, if you have a chance, get into these battles, its an amazing sight.Lurker really put some effort into RSRD.The shots below are not in order, they are from the various points between 12 November 42 and 15 November 42.Notice all the ship sunk markers, no wonder it's called Iron Bottom Sound.
