I'm my first patrol of a new career, and sailing out of Luzon, came across a TF that included 2 Kongo's and the Mogami, problem is it's the A/C version, and it's Dec 41 !
Did the Devs not make a pre conversion model of her ?

I think it's just the late war version. I think the team working on FOTRS made an early war version for that mod, but I haven't loaded that mod in quite a while.

The film "the final countdown" is not one you would probably want to see, then...

There is a very interesting variant on this, an animated Anime series from Japan that sends a modern JDF Frigate back to 1942, and it shows up in the middle of the pacific and runs into the Yamato and a task force in the fog. The modern Japanese captain whose ship is armed with the latest weapons including sophisticated cruise missles eventually makes contact with the Imperial Army forces on Guadalcanal and then Admiral Yamamoto and the imperial fleet by sending a helo to Truk where we get to see the pride of the IJN at anchor and meet many historic figures. The officers of the ship take a tour of mainland asia and see occupied countries and end up in mianland Japan as does the ship itself and the same dilema remains what does the modern ship with its modern view of war and that war do..in the process we get to see wartime operations on both surface and submarine IJN ships, which is of high interest as it is a rare chance to see operational data obviously drawn from surviving Japanese officers and records and used by the Japanese producers of the series, which is called Zipang, and runs 26 episodes. I found it actually more interesting that the smaltzy hollywood flick which had little to recomend it other than entertainment and a fun twist at the end.

I could've swore that I saw the early war Mogami sometime in the past year.:hmmm: I play TMO+RSRDC so I'm not sure which of those mods might have added it. The Stock version (if you're playing it) is ahistorical, so I wouldn't expect too much from it.

... other than entertainment and a fun twist at the end.
Not to mention the creepiest soundtrack ever.
