I played a lot of 4 when it came out and bought 5 day of release but it was buggy as hell. is it worth getting nowadays and what are the best mods to bring it up to spec?

If you are not comfortable with modding then it would be best to pass. If you have no trouble with modding and using JGSME then go for it. The game is cheap enough to be a bargain and there are plenty of mods to fix what should have been fixed and add what should have been added. It is still an ongoing mod project.

Yes, indeed. It is worthwhile, but you will spend timeless hours to get the mods you want to work, it's a real nightmare... maybe MMM has sped up things a bit...

If you are talking about SH4 there is a Mod and its the only Mod you will need it brings the game right up to date I was only informed of it about 4 to 7 days ago D/L it and hay presto it was great the same applies to SH5 this one new MOd and SH5 is great all you are left with doing is apperience in what you want your game to look like also extra games and instruction manuals.

I hope that this will help you decide what to do.

I have returned to SHIV after a long break and have installed the MMM mod and a Grossdeutscher Rundfunk radio pack.

The Sim is now a lot better and is now at least playable.

At bargain basement prices of $4.99 for the Sim, you cant go wrong.
