I went nuts and installed some mods this evening amoung them was SH4 BRASS HUD.
I enabled it with JSCONES MOD enabler whislt I was at sea.
However there was no change on loading up the game. Should I have waited till I was in port to enable it ?

The general rule of thumb is to always load mods while in port. It's rare that a mod can be activated while at sea.

Most smaller mods you must load while at port, larger supermods, you need to start a new career.

Well amoung the mods that were enabled at sea and work are:
Smaller Seabed Rocks
Smaller Seabed Plants
Speech Overhaul
Ship Debris SH4 with Bodies
I also have one called MACOSX though I'm not sure what this does.

I think that is advisable to ditch savegemes of any sort, when you do any kind of mod enable/disable, just to be on the safe side.

I also have one called MACOSX though I'm not sure what this does.Yeah, there are a few that can be installed at sea, and the "Read Me" files that come with them (or on the DL page) will usually indicate whether a mod can/must be loaded at sea, while in Home Port or at the start of a new career.

Well this has been decided for me, got sunk, heading home, also got the MOH.
I'll disble then re enable when I start a fresh career.
