Hi guys,
I would like to ask you some suggestions about SH3 and SH4.
I have finally upgraded my computer which will allow me to play both games with maximum details. Unfortunately I don't have much free time so I decided to ask "the veterans" for a suggestion.
I am a fan of SH serie since his first, I played many hours with SH3 loving his crew/damage management as the best part of the game for me was the "hiding & escaping" part (yes, not firing and destroying but hiding and escaping).
I know that both titles have a lot of mods now days so my question is:
What I really love of those games is (in order): Crew/damage management, Graphic, game play/realism.
Which Title with which mod you would suggest me to enhance those points?
(i didn't mention SH5 cause I think it is too different from his predeccessors and has no crew management)

Thank you veru much for your time.

Play them both....they're cheap enough at todays prices.

thank you but I think the reply is out of topic.
I already have both of them, my problem is not the price but the lack of time (work and family).
I would like to save some time asking someone who already played both with mods, hoping to get the best advice for enjoyng one of them with mods according to what I liked most of SH3 (crew/damafe management, graphic and relism/game play

Actually, it's not off topic. Each had their ups and downs. With mods , it's been said they are difficult to compare. Just play both. Look through the threads for ideas on mod soup recipes.

uhmmm.... I know about all the threads around, what i was hoping was just a quick review about the two titles with mods played by hardcore gamers.

I got my Ideas but instead of installing both of them, upload the many mods are around, trying them and uninstalling, my hope was to find out the best option for me according to gamer's point of view...

thank you for the suggestion anyway

TBH what it really comes down to is do you want to sail in the Pacific or the North Atlantic? Do you want to be American or German?

Modded out both games are extreamly good at what they do.

And just as an FYI - I have played SH3, 4 and 5 a lot but I always find myself heading back to my trusty SH3 GWX+SH3 Commander installation.

Have both SH3 and SH4

Quickly gave up on SH4; steep learning curve; never could figure out crewing; useless manual.

Staying with SH3 with GWX:rock:

You've asked in the 3 forum so Ill say 3, and if you're that short of time you won't want to spend ages downloading.

Which do you prefer, it's not us playing.

thank you for your time

.. choosing mods is a personal matter. you'll have to try stuff out, keeping in mind your computers capability for example. but you can always come back here for help if you are stuck :03:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FLAG4!
I will copy and paste your post, going to install and play SH3 next week.
I am worried about uncompatibility between mods, so your list is really useful and an excellent starting point.

Which side is your alliance ??

If you live in the USA... you want to play SH4
This is because your 'patriotic' calling is so ... ???
It also because you WON the war ?

If you live 'Elsewhere' (UK, Germany..) your 'patriotic calling' is not so intense and you're willing to 'see' the other side's POV...
You want to play SH3.

SO... if you're willing to defy propaganda of all types and be a 'man'/'woman', join the Kriegsmarine and find out for yourself !!

Gargamel, sometimes a person cant see the wood for the trees. there is nothing wrong with helping some one out.

i know the frustration of not being able to find something you didnt know you were looking for!

Its hard to say, I like the graphics of 3 more (With mods of course) but I don't really like the UI at all, I love GWX and its graphics (as far as they can go) and the fact that ports seem so busy and the actually gameplay/ UI to it. Its honestly all personal preference. Don't get me wrong, I like 4 a lot, I just can't seem to get into playing it like 3 got me. I am going to try though as I do think it deserves a definite fair look.
