Picked this up for 50% off on steam last night. This is a kick ass indy game, though it's definately not for everyone.

IF...
- You've ever played and enjoyed a flight sim.
- You were ever into Earth and Beyond (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGnTAddNpQc) ( I had a level 150 Progen warrior on Pegasus )
- You were ever into SWG Jump to light speed. ( Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcP95zXWDYU&feature=related)) and ( Link (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bV4DLY_ZI8)) ( I flew as "Rapax Victis" on Bria and later transferred to Starsider )
- have some memories of Xwing Vs Tie Figher, or Tie Figher,
- And love combining space, with a flight stick that's been collecting dust because nothings come out that's required it's use....

Then this game is for you! Time to dust off the joystick! It combines some of the best aspects of everything i mentioned, although there is no walk around avatar. Kinda like Eve, but less menu driven.

Bewarned: If you don't have the patience to play the tutorial, you'll be confused as all hell. This is not a simplistic game.

Check out these tutorial videos to get an idea of the gameplay.

Picked it up a while ago with some indie bundle, few others here as well. Ran a server for a bit but it kept crashing for some reason.

As an application i haven't had any troubles with it thus far. The astounding thing to me, is this game is primarily done by one guy.

And yet it plays like a AAA title. The D/L is surprisingly small.

The game didn't give me trouble either, just the dedicated server application.

And yes, it is rather small. Iirc most of it is a bunch of algorithms for random generation. At least the starting sectors seemed fairly fixed, but there might be plenty more universe out there; never got too deep into it before becoming distracted once more. :hmmm:

Quite like the ability to disengage the "dampeners" and just coast through space. Something rather lacking from a lot of space games, including the X ones.

I played the demo not long ago and thought it was okay for what I got out of it. I'm pretty happy with X3 reunion atm, with the Startek & Starwars ships mod. Flying round the X universe in a Tie fighter :DL
