Hah! 4000 sailors. Downtown Perth will be awash in dress whites.
I was there on the USS Tunny during the same period 28 years ago. One small ship. 120 sailors.

I bet Perth would be a fun port to visit. :yep:
They'll be docked in Fremantle about 20km from Perth proper. Its got some great pubs and Perth itself is quite a nice town. Hope they behave themselves.

Visiting US airmen to the UK used to get told not to drink or gamble with the Brits, I imagine that's even more applicable down-under. :hmmm:

I'd bet they'll behave as well as any other sailors on liberty. Probably better since they are there for a remembrance ceremony and image will be stressed by the chain of command.

I was only joking. By and large sailors are like everyone else. Some of them get rowdy sometimes, but most are respectable.

I am in the process of planning a trip to Australia.I would like to see Perth-Fremantle since US subs were a presence there, also plane to see Brisbane, realize they are quite a distance apart lol but aside from the usual tourist things, want to look at some historical stuff.
