Guys, I am playing SHIV WOP Gold 1.5.
Is ther a idiots guide or tutorial here that I can access to assist me with repairs to the sub.
I'm having a hard time working out the best way to get repairs done, prioritise urgent repairs and don't know when repairs are actually being carried out.
Thanks
p.s.
I have searched through threads but not been able to find what I want.

Well, for starters, when you activate battle stations, it should automatically activate your damage control team. You also have to place crew members in the damage control slots (it's best to use crew members with high mechanical/electrical ratings, like those from the engine room).
In addition, compartments that are damaged will automatically have crew members from that particular compartment tending to repairs, unless, of course, they're dead or severely injured.
If you go to your subsystems management page, you'll see all the equipment that is installed on your sub, including a hell integrity meter (I think) on the top left. On the very bottom of that same page, you'll see a box with consecutive slots where damaged equipment will be aligned in a specific order. The top slot indicates which piece of equipment is currently being repaired, though you can change the priority simply by dragging any damaged equipment into the top slot. If you mouse over the red bar alongside any of those damaged items, you'll get a little balloon pop-up that will show how far the repairs have progressed for that specific item. It would also be a good idea to place an officer or CPO into the first slot of your damage control crew.
There will also be certain items that cannot be repaired at sea and can only be repaired at your home port.
Hope this wasn't confusing and helps get you started.:03:

Guys,
thanks, I did review that link, so putting members in to DC party does not take them away from their primary duties ? just means when the sub gets damaged they go to work ?

Well, yes it does, simply if you put torp men in the DC slots, they don't use their skills in the torp room. I still will move my men around where needed from compartment to compartment unless I need them to repair damage in their compartment. Main thing is fill the DC department up with a good officer in charge. If I'm dived and not worried about loading torps, I have no problem moving them where needed. Main thing is to repair and evade when you're under attack.

Well I managed to get my boat repaired, was on the agen insertion mission and got caught on the surface by two zero's. Got hammered, 78% hull damage, wrecked electric engines, whole rear torpedo compartment flooded, and some of the engine room.
Got it all repaired and with the hull damage headed back to Pearl, then got hit again on the surface and that finsished me :wah:
Is there a way to get more warning from the lookouts ?, the Mavis was right on top of me when it was spotted. Yes I had time compresion up, and it was daylight with good visibility.

Does your boat have airsearch radar? It does help by giving you a little more warning, and crashdive and take her deep.

I have found that anything over 32 in time compression once you get a hit on your SD will not warn of an aircraft being sighted.
In other words;
TC as high as you like until you get a radar contact on the SD. Drop to normal time. If you have SJ then check to make sure it's not a surface contact. If only SD then obviously it's an air contact. If you do not have visibility on an aircraft on the bearing then increase your TC to 32 (I think even 64 might work but it's been a while). If the aircraft comes into visible range you will get an "aircraft spotted", otherwise after approx 5 minutes of game time at 32 (your call) you can increase your TC again to the much higher speeds.
This works for me.........so far! :03:
Hope this helps.

Yep. Warping away in extremely high TC has its disadvantages.
