Im kinda toying with a mini meet in chicago this summer, would be fun to meet some people face to face this year...and se who im dealing with (or arguing with :O:)

so anyways...whats the take on this? I kinda wanna know

I'm up for a meet in August, unless my applications to UP and BNSF go through quickly enough that I can't attend, but assuming they don't I'll be available to provide a home base, we are about 3 hours drive from Chicago where I live, it's about an hour away from the Mississippi and it is kinda central to where everyones coming from.

And, I'll scrap some time off and throw some money in for drinks as well.

Nah, its a part of the summervacation with the family. We will be in the windy city for 2,5 days, so I plan to spend the 0,5 day with Shargie and U505 :yeah:

OK...i finally got the dates for the trip.
The day I can meet is on the 9th of August -my last day in Chicago.

I work in the Loop. Make it a night or weekend and it shouldn't be a problem for me to swing by. Edit: checked their hours, nights are out...maybe I can take some time off, but I can't commit.

I saw on the Subsim facebook page that someone was thinking August 9th and someone else posted about a 2.5 hour tour on Aug 11. I would like to try for either one of those, but would prefer the Aug 11th trip.

I'd be taking the train down from Flint, MI for a day trip.

Not to hijack this thread but I'll be in Cleveland on the 21st and plan to spend the afternoon looking around the USS Cod if any Subsim members want to meet up. Just look for the Australian tourist snapping away on a DLSR.

I'm sad you're leaving on the 9th... If I make the trip I'm only interested on the special days with the 2.5 hour tour at 8:30am. That makes it worth the drive... These are the dates for the special 2.5 hour tours. I was looking at August 11th.
