Hi Guys.
I have installed the game and it has patched itself to 1.2. (6 hrs on dial up)
It also updated and installed the game launcher.
I have registered with UBI/uplay but i have never been asked for the games code number.
When i click the game launcher, it quickly checks the "downloading update information", then goes to "checking for updates", then goes to "patching, please wait"
I have been "waiting" for around 15 hrs.
It just wont go past this point.
I cant find the page where i can force the offline mode.
I am a bit stuck. I have searched.
Can anyone help

Hello kiwibob
First off, welcome in, lots of cool Kaleuns about, so you're going to get help.
Post your system specs, there can be issues with certain hardware.
Did you check the operating specifications for the game? I don't mean to sound rude but sometimes something is overlooked (take it from me)There are certain issues with graphics cards and operating systems although this game will run on most, there are a few that can be problematic. So... comeback with your system specs and recheck the game specs and we can go from there.
Cheers.

Thanks dogfish40.
I uninstalled and went thru the whole process again. My computer is well up to specs. I have just bought it for this game (and a few others).
All went well this time. The game is now running and i have it in offline mode.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi Kiwi,
In the upper right corner of the log-on window there is a "settings" button.
There you find the option 'off line', check it.
Besides, you say the SH5 patched alright automatically and it should be patched properly.
BUT, sometimes this simply isn't true :nope:
I've had this a few times after a re-install and the following was the remedy.
Go to; C:\Ubisoft\SH5\Support.
In this 'Support' folder you should find an app named 'gu.exe'
Run it and it will patch once more and hopefully in a proper way.
As I'm currently not logged on to my own computer I can't check the actual path (it might be wrong) but I'm confident you'll find the 'gu.exe' anyway.
This could be the answer to your question (or at least a part of it)
Report back if you still have questions.
You're welcome. Anytime
Cheers

You can download the patch manually for future installation. And you can make a backup copy of the whole sh5 folder. This way you don't need to install and patch the game everytime there are issues with mods etc.
