I have 2 questions.

The first concerns a statement in the manual on page 61 regarding the compass:

"With this tool you can draw ranges represented as circles around a selected unit or location.
Two types of ranges can be drawn.
–– Linked ranges – ranges that are linked to a unit (the unit is in the center of the circle).
These ranges follow the unit they are linked to.
–– Free ranges – ranges that are drawn on the map at any location."

My question is how do you draw a linked range circle (one that travels with the unit)?

The second concerns the range circles that the program has around ASW units. Is there any place that explains what each corresponds to? I assume that the one with the "cutout" at the aft end of an ASW unit is sonar range (active or passive or both?) But what about the others.

Thanks,
Tom

I've never tried the Linked Ranges myself, but I think it's just a matter of starting at the center of your boat or a target ship. The circle with the pie-section cutout is sonar, if it's a warship and has an additional outer circle, that should indicate radar. Merchants will also have a circle for (I think) visual range.
