Murmansk Convoys

Hello fellow Kapitans.

New ( ish) player running GWX.

I am very interested in the Atlantic Operations, And have generally concentrated my Atlantic efforts against the convoys near Gibralter.

But is there a particular flotilla that is used for primarily against the Murmansk Convoys? I have yet to recieve a mission against the Russian convoys. I have never made it past mid 1943 ( Dead is Dead) so perhaps they are not in full swing yet.


I would rather not have to got back to the small U boat for operations in the Black Sea.

Any suggestions as to what would be a good area to patrol or what flotilla is best to use against the Ruskies? I feel sorry for all the poor Brittish fellows I have sent to their doom, and would like to see some action against the primary nation that ended Germany by striking that all important supply route.

I like to role play a bit with my captain personalites, boats, strategies .. ETC

11th Flotilla is available from June 42 based in Norway
Altho primarily atlantic or western England patrol grids will give you the best chance of hitting the Russian convoys

Murmansk convoys start in 41 and some boats were sent into Norway ports before a flotilla officially opened,
Running out of Kirkenes and Hammerfest as well as Trondheim/Bergen.
From a game POV there are no grids up there on the map so you wont ever get a patrol grid where you will come into contact with those convoys.
