View Full Version : Timing depth charges

Is it possible, by timing from the first depth charge message to the first boom, to tell the depth at which the charges are set?

I know it was done in RL. Just wondring if it is accurately modelled in game.

that would be awesome! an excellent question

i am afraid that the answer could be 'no' because there are too many variables
(like the skill of the sonar guy)

but i'm hoping one of the experts is going to come and say 'yes'
:arrgh!:

You could try to listen yourself for the first splash of the depth charges to overcome the hydrophone operator variables.

With Silent3ditor you'll find the sink rate of the depth charges.

There is a random +/- variation of the ignition depth set by the attacker.
IIRC it's about +/- 5 meters to have some 'depth' in the danger zone/level.
Again Silent3ditor will reveal this.

Up to a certain degree you should be able to calculate the depth settings of your friend above.

...your friend above

He wasn't very friendly when he blew my deck gun off and destroyed my hydrophone last night!
