This guy doesn't even look tough! he looks like the kind of guy Arnold eats for breakfast!

Although with modern CGI technology, they can do the girl with 3 jugs much better:03:

It's like the glittering vampire of remakes.

I liked the movie, but Arnold was never the right fit for the part, though I doubt it would have been made without him. The part calls for an average joe to provide contrast with the mutants in the colony.

Colin Farrell is a much better fit, as long as you don't stick him in a phone booth for the entire film. :damn:

That's all good but the remake won't be set on Mars AFAIK. :dead:

You must admit the end was good though...when Sutherland made his appearance :DL

This makes me feel old....they're now remaking movies that I remember seeing in the theatre the first time.

One of the few remakes I enjoyed was Peter Jackson's King Kong in 2005. That's mostly because the 1976 remake was such a travesty. How Jeff Bridges' career recovered I'll never know.

I think Arnold made the movie as it is now...a B-Movie classic.
Remaking a B-movie anyway is bad...since they try to up the ''epic'' factor which is mostly blown out of proportion due visuals.

It might become enjoyable to watch (hell it has Beckinsale in it ''Yum!'') but it won't stick like the classic one does. ''YOU BLEW MY COVAAH!!''

The original movie butchered Dick's short story, which ideally would have made a great Twilight Zone episode. I'm sure the new movie will be even worse in that regard.

My 13 yr. old daughter (a Star Wars fan) was watching Blade Runner this weekend. She was flipping stations and saw Harrison Ford.

I went to my library and grabbed Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and told her to read that instead. She didn't put it down until she finished it. Granted, that didn't take long. She reads even faster than I do.

Don't go there. How old were you when you saw it in the theater?

@ GR: Is that a list of movies you saw in the theater or a list of movies made into sequels you hate? It qualifies for both in my world.

For me Jeff made his comeback from King Kong with The Big Lebowski. He made Dudes look cool. :D

You can't replace Arnold for another muscle bound actor it wouldn't work imo and Arnold is too old for the remake. At least it ain't Tom Cruise.
