I just dont get it from what i can tell im doing everything im supposed to but obviously im doing it completely wrong.
"Everything is sent to the Tdc."
1.Identify the Ship"Im pretty sure it has been the right ship i picked"
2.Select the height/distance"i place the boat avatar that appears on screen like ontop of the actuall boat.
3.The angle"I set the angle to the position i think the target wil be when the torpedo will hit.
4.The speed. "after all the calculations it calculates the speed of the target"
Well i fire the tube and when i go to the target map mode to check there is you know the line the torpedo will travel but its like no where near where the target is and the distance is way of ,the distance is just outside my boat kind of compared to where the target acually is. And ontop of that the bloody thing detonate like 20 seconds after it left the tube LOL :D alerting the ships of my presence.
I had on version 1.3 succesful hits, more misses but i had hits And calculations could be slightly of in the target map mode but not like this. Now when i play the expansion 1.5 its like waaaay of. What am i doing wrong?
Cheers

You haven't checked the tutorials in Sub Skipper's Bag of Tricks (http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=146795), that's what you're doing wrong :D

1. After you ID the ship, click on the box and select it. You should then be able to see on the mast ht dial the correct value.
2. Using the stadimeter: Know that range estimates based on visual observations will not be error-free. There is not much that can be done about that. This is one reason why I plot out the enemy ship's course and make a series of obervations. In this way I can 'fair' the plot and reduce the effect of any errors.
3. The angle off the bow should be the angle you see at that moment, not what you think it will be when the torps hit. This and the other data tell the TDC what the target's course is.
4. If you are using the little button with the watch icon on the right slide-out, be aware that it tends to be inaccurate, especially with short time periods. This is another reason why I do my own plots/calculations. In any case, this feature requires you make at least two observations. Otherwise, the target's speed could not be calculated.
Also, remember to open the outer torpedo tube doors in advance. Failure to do so, will result in a delay at launching, and potentially a miss. Make sure you input the bearing into the TDC last, as it is frequently changing rapidly, and errors in this item will have a greater effect.
Oh, and I forgot, make sure the PK, position keeper is on.
I hope this helps. :)

I tried to the best of my ability to follow these steps but there is no diffrence.
Kind of hard to explain but it kind of aims right at it which means that by the time the torpedo hit the boat whould not be in the same location obviously. And the range, its still that little line i explained earlier. I just dont get it. Ive been trying to read and watch tutorials but for me i think the only way is to actually talk to someone who actually can explain it in person.
Is there like some official Teamspeak or something simular for Silent Hunter? Its a stretch but that whould be awesome lol

Perhaps my explanation is not the best. I haven't use the TDC recently and am going by memory. If the torpedo is going at the ship straight out and not "leading" it, it sounds like you are not inputting a value for target's speed. Check to make sure you are entering the proper value and the TDC is using it.
I agree it is difficult to explain the TDC without diagrams/video. Someone will come along here and help us out.

Just a thought- Once you have the targets info, are you sending the target info to the PK by clicking the little red button on the data tool? And as was asked earlier have you got the PK switched on?
are you setting torp speed to high? often that will create a premature detonation which i think is actually historically accurate. keep torps on low speed.
other than that, it sounds like maybe you aren't hitting the "send data to tdc" buttons for speed, range and aob. That, or you haven't turned on the position keeper.
Watch the tutorials and pay close attention to EVERY step and EVERY button pushed.
