View Full Version : What's your worst movie?

We have all talked about our favorite movies, but there must be some movies, where you have thought my god let me out of here or have I really spent money on this.

My worst movie was Batman. The only thing that made that movie somehow watchable was Jack as Joker.

Just like it is impossible to name one favourite movie, it is equally impossible to name one hated movie. :D

I will throw out "The day the earth froze" 1959 and a candidate stinker.

Let's put it this way:
for every decent movie there is a hundred and for every really excellent movie there seems to be a thousand "worst-ever"-movies.

For TV formats (series, shows, stage entertainment etc), the ratios are probably even worse.

I hear Manos is...well...thankfully I've avoided it.

The worst...that's pretty hard to decide...Robin Hood (with Mr Crowe) was pretty damn terrible but it had its moments...not many mind...

:hmmm:

I'm sure I'll think of more...I've not watched U-571 so I can't cite that. :haha:

Anything with van Damme or Seagull in*, Sly films comes pretty close too.

But without a doubt in my mind Eraserhead is probably the weirdest and worst film I've ever had the misfortune to (try to) watch.

Also up there are most US remakes of European or Japanese films, just because some people don't like reading subtitles and most dubbing is crap.

*Unless it has Erika Eleniak jumping out of a cake, obviously.

You should differentiate between B-movies (and worse) that never had a chance of being good, and major movies made by professionals that have no excuse. Also, you have to decide whether to include a movie's camp value or riffability in your consideration, or not.

Ignoring all the MST3K grade movies, and ignoring camp value, the top 5 for me would have to be

Armageddon
Transformers 2 + 3
Star Wars Episodes 1 + 2.

I may be risking my Mystic Knights membership here, but I'd nominate Forbidden Zone (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080752/).

Herve Villechaise, Susan Tyrrell, Danny Elfman as Satan.

A mysterious door in the basement of the Hercules house leads to the Sixth Dimension by way of a gigantic set of intestine. When Frenchy slips through the door, King Fausto falls in love with her. The jealous Queen Doris takes Frenchy prisoner, and it is up to the Hercules family and friend Squeezit Henderson to rescue her.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0136244/
I belive its based on a book, anyway I saw it on a date with a Polish girl back in 1999, I can honestly say it was the dullest movie ever made, literally nothing happens
So boring we almost walked out.

Dont get me wrong, being the compromising boyfriend that I am- Ive sat though a fair amount of moden U.S & British Romantic comedies, I can just about tolerate them, but the formula is always the same, an hour of will they/wont they tension, then at the end it all goes to crap, then they miraculously get together at the end (usally on some public platform so a crowd can give them an applause, puke, puke....)
Im happy that Miss JU_88 is in to psycho thrillers, and 'who dun it' crime dramas, much more up my ally :) She'll even sit though the odd war movie so long as it has a decent narrative. :woot:

When I was 17 on a late Friday night and I may or may not have been toking, my friends managed to convince me to watch X-Men: The Last Stand with them (the only conditions in which I can be convinced to watch a movie involving superheroes).

Even sto... ahem... tired out of my mind, I was able to determine that was probably the flat-out worst combination of poor writing, poor directing, and poor acting I have had the displeasure of witnessing in my 23 years.

I like to think I have discerning tastes in films, which is why I have to be dragged by friends to watch a movie I even have an inkling is going to be bad. Sure, I could have watched something that was monumentally bad like this "The Room" I keep hearing about, but I should thank my lucky stars that the ones close to me aren't that cruel enough to subject me to that :salute:

"They Live" is pretty bad but it has a lot of cheesy one liners and the way it is filmed it is kind of entertaining in a weird way but I am sure not the way it is meant to have been.Like how you can see "them" with special pair of sunglasses and the famous "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubblegum and I'm all out of bubblegum." Actually I kind of like that movie.

For a movie that I really did walk out on it would be Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas it was just boring just two guys tripping out in early 70's Las Vegas you'd think it would have been really funny but it was not.

Ooh, thanks for reminding me.

Leaving Las Vegas. The good: Nicholas Cage did deserve the Oscar he won for best actor. Elisabeth Shue topless.

The bad: Pretty much everything else. The story, mainly. A man who decides to commit suicide by drinking himself to death. A woman who believes that if she really loves him it's her job to help him do it. Pathetic, dreary, useless. Well made, but of what?

An Air Force friend of mine really loved that flick for some reason he was a heavy drinker as well(though I'd not consider him to have been an alcoholic well perhaps a social one) maybe it reminded him not to go to far with the booze and wind up like Cage did.
