This is the courts first verdict since it was set up ten years ago :o
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has found the Congolese warlord, Thomas Lubanga, guilty of recruiting and using child soldiers between 2002 and 2003.

He could face between 25 and 30 years in jail as the prosecution asked for "close to the maximum" sentence.30 years for war crimes... if he was caught snorting a line 1000 feet from a school he would be in prison for twice that.
What happened to the old days when we would hang SOBs like this?
The BBC's Anna Holligan in The Hague says the guilty verdict means victims and their families are entitled to apply reparations from the court, which could be financial, symbolic or involve rehabilitation. I'm guessing these funds will come from the ICC's finances and not from the accused.
