BBC also has some pictures here (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17363474) - they answered my 'how?' question. A wall about as wide as the bus sticking out from the tunnel wall leading to an emergency exit. :nope:

Not the right time to blame anyone, but surely that's a crap design, and as such how many other vehicles have struck it over the years???

Lets hope something can be learned that can help prevent similar accidents in future.

Deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims.

What I hate about this is that it's so predictable and yet nothing is done until the brown stuff has hit the fan.:damn:
It's an awful tragedy.

A bigger barrier to seperate the emergency lane instead of the two kerbs, that way the coach would have bounced back into the traffic lanes instead of crossing onto and carrying on down the emergency lane
