View Full Version : CTD when starting a patrol in late war.

I choose to start in 1944. When i'm a few kms from the port the game CTD. I cant figure why this happen.
My mod list:
GWX - 16km Atmosphere
GWX - Alternate Loadscreen - Full Circle

Question. Are you leaving port at the proper RL speed, gnawing on a knockwurst on pumpernickle, or are you teleporting at warp speed? Teleporting with all the entities in port and in the inner and outer harbor may overload your mem. me thinks ... just a guess as I am no keekenstiemer.

If you use SH3commander try the start at sea option
Will start you 20km or so outside the port so less strain on the system
Posting the error would help too
If using Vista and presume 7 then in control panel find the " Problem Reports and solutions "
On the left side click " View problem history "
Find SH3 in the list then right click the top/latest SH3 entry and then " View problem details "
"Fault Module Name:" is the line of interest

I started at sea and i didnt find any problems. Then started at the port and it didn't CTD. I also looked for the problems history but no problem was showed. I have never passed through 1940, i'm on my first patrol and it's a different war on 1944, quite complicated for me. Thanks!

I wouldnt go much above 32x while in port. Jams up my machine. And if your only running 2 gb......

See nothing in your mod list which would cause a CTD though the SH3 exe being the cause of CTD is a difficult one to pinpoint.
Something specific would help narrow the cause but with the exe could be hard to find
You could try adding in an original exe not one altered by h.sie not that think that is the culprit but going back to basics is sometimes the best way to narrow down the problem
Do you use alternative flotillas ? could be worth removing if not
The only other date specific mod is the late war sensors :hmmm:

I took out the mods one by one then testing, and i found that the game starts when i disable stiebler's addon for V1.6B1. I don't know which could be the problem but it is a very important mod for me i want it!! Any ideas?

Ok. But first i will do again the patch installation to asure that i didn't make any mistakes during the process.
I had a constant problem with CTD's never got past two patrols , there is a member here in the forum who suggested Game Booster 3 a freeware , which I tried , it shuts down unnecessary programs that run in the back ground of your comp , I was at 8 patrols before i got myself sunk with the Game Booster program , maybe this may help you avoid CTD's .
I am sorry for not remembering the fellow members name , lately I have been having the memory of a goldfish .

I see a potential problem in your loadout - Supplement to V16B1 should be last in the mod order according to the readme. May, may not be a cause?

Yes. However i installed the suplement and stiebler's addon again and they are in last place of my loadout.
