Just wanted to take a moment and say hello. I'm a 12 year veteran from the Coast Guard that loves to play military strategy games. I absolutely loved Janes Combat Sims and recently discovered SH3. Looking forward to many hours of play...

Just putting SH# back on my hard drive and I have it running on Win 7 64 with GWX thanks to all the advice here.

Am now downloading the hi res fix to get more than 1024 x 768!

Welcome Aboard Sir , you will find SH3 and it's mods very addictive , you will find this simulation to be very much like Backgammon and Chess none of this rush in and shoot'em up games that we see on game consoles but rather a simulation of strategy and tactics , as real as it gets . And when you are being hunted by Destroyers , one sitting still listening with it's sonar and the other making a run over your position dropping Depth Charges , you will experience the Pucker Factor big time ! Enjoy SH3 and enjoy the camaraderie of this forum and please do keep us abreast of your exploits . :salute:
