I started out the campaign with the usual Type VIIA, and used the 3rd speed setting (around 10 knots) for traveling. According to the pop-up that appears when I hold the cursor on the "3", it's the best setting for long traveling, and it's also the cruising speed according to uboat.net.
Now that I finished the blockade mission of the first campaing, I got the Type VIIB, and I noticed that the 3rd speed setting gives a speed around 15 knots (IIRC), and depletes my fuel very fast. The 2nd speed setting results in a speed around 10 knots, though. However: the pop-ups with info about the speed setting are still the same (saying the 2nd setting = 6 knots, 3rd setting = 10 knots).
Is this supposed to work this way? Should I just ignore the pop-ups and use the 2nd setting for cruising? Or is this a bug?
I hadn't tried out the flank speed, but if the 3rd setting already results in 15 knots, I'm afraid flank speed will result in something like 20 knots... that would be crazy offcourse.
I haven't upgraded the top speed through the engine officer, so it's not that...
