I just followed the directions in the "starforce free" thread. Works like a charm. Now I need to get Enigma Rising Tide working.

Once addicted to SHIII/GWX YOU won't need Rising Tide:up:

Haven't played it but once or twice cuz I'm too busy rocking out in the command room wit my weapons officer, and my trusty navigation officer. Such an improvement from SH2. :D It will be hard to play any other subsim now. There's only 1 problem wit SH3, the time compression doesn't go up high enough. Even at 1024x, getting to BE33 takes awhile....

Immersion - IRL crews didn't just skip straight into action, lots of tedious boring travel first. Also at high TC you could be missing out on a lot of action both on the water and in the air! :o BE33 could be really quiet.

If you use SH3 Commander you can go as high as 8192x

I don't want to bother with any mods yet because it was a son of a ----- to install on win7.

Resist all you want, GWX is too good to miss :D
Installing mods in SH3 is actually quite easy - finding a load order that doesn't crash the game is the trick! Do what I do and just stick with SH3 Commander (a 3rd party program) and GWX. Result is a very stable, awesome version of SH3

^ What he said

Stock SH3 is like playing a demo compared to GWX. It's a pretty simple install & well worth the effort, particularly if you're planning on playing a campaign.

Where do I acquire this "GWX" you speak of? I have JSGME for sh3. I caved and downloaded a mission beacause I needed to try out JSGME.
