Adding Mods while in campaign

Soon I will return to brest after being on Operation drumbeat .. I wanna add a litte upgrade to my mod list manly the beast upgrade pack . will that effect my campiagn ? I will be in port soon !

Is there a hard and fast rule about changing mod mix during a campaign i.e. after a save and prior to 'continue campaign/load'?
