At first I thought it'd be another crappy sci-fi movie, and then I realised it was the same film that was linked here a while ago with the Moon-Nazi school children. Got to be a winner. :yeah:
Apart from the flying scenes, like the A-10 flying with the Raptors :hmmm: :nope:
I may even make a rare visit to the cinema to see it - last time was Senna, before that Avatar...) :D

Infantile. I'm getting too old for this kind of nonsense. What speaks against the technical effort the gfx crew has undertaken being combined with a more mature story-telling and a more adult plot? Or is the love for Nazi-bashing scenarios in fictional tales a result from the inability and unwillingness to beat real enemies in the real world any more?

From the description: "Iron Sky, a dark scifi comedy, premieres February 11th..."
Infantile.
Of course it is. It's a stupid comedy. The only possible redeeming factor is how will it is or isn't done. If it's done well it will be worth it.
Looking good there :D Been waiting on this one for a while. :yeah:

I guess you haven't seen Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning? ;)
In all honesty, I've been waiting for this from the word go and considering what these guys have been able to do in their backyard as it were, I'm excited to what they can do when they are given the proper resources. So yes, I'm hyped over this and while all hypes never live up their expectations, I don't think Energia productions will let us down. Now if only they would have a screening in Ljubljana, I might actually have to go to the movies.
Oh, and for reference: Nazi UFOs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_UFOs).

I didn't feel I was good enuff at the time so I hope it goes over well so I can try for the sequel.

Hey Respensus, see what I just found on Wiki :DL
On 11 February 2009 it was announced that the film will star German actress Julia Dietze. The Slovenian industrial music group Laibach will be recording the soundtrack.
I think that your hope of seeing a screeening in Ljubljana just got better odds :DL

UK distributor Revolver Entertainment stuck this on a one-day-only release for the 23rd May - tomorrow! They've since listened to the British public complaining on their Facebook wall and Twitter and announced an extended release -
the film will continue to play at selected cinemas for as long as demand dictates Stating from tomorrow, at just 11 cinemas nationwide.
:damn:
If I have to get it on DVD to watch it I will, and I'll be sourcing from another country's distributor so that Revolver don't get my cash.

just came from Ljubljana, we went and saw the movie
LOVED IT. If you forget for a moment that physics are being Michael Bay abused the movie is excellent. The gags are witty but require quite a knowledge of movie history. There's no toilet humor :DL Non-Hollywood ending.
The battle scenes were excellent if not a bit short :-? Managed to capture with camera movement the chaos of being in a middle of a firefight without making the wiewer sick.
So

Can all you UK-ers please go to www.ironsky.net/demand and fill in the boxes for email address (must be validated!) and postcode to try and get this on a full UK release. :yep:
If anyone else wants to help then just guess some postcodes along the lines of DN35 0AQ (my nearest kino) :D

I really like the Zeppelins so I'm going to try doing a 3D model of the one in Iron Sky.
I have a rough scale based on the Bismarck as the image seems to suggest.
I added all the Ships to get a size, but the bottom images seem to be the Birmarck silhouette, so I exported the Bismarck from SH3 to use as a scale.
I tried to find any images on the 'Net of the Zeppelins but those are really not that great.
If anyone has any shots? I'd like a link for playing around.
To bad I didn't save some files when I first started messing with the K-Ship.
I recall it was pretty huge before I learned about scaleing for SH Games.
I was way ahead of my time I guess?
:haha:

My 'stupid' Goal is to do a SH3/4/5? meets Iron Sky thing.
I believe I can get the doors rolling up on the sides with a slight bit of effort.
The launching of the Haunebu may require a bit of work though.

Probably for the best. It was baaad, and not in a good way.
Still, it was at least very silly. It kind of seemed like a porn movie that had forgotten to put the porn in. Syfy channel 'premiered' their rip-off version the other night. It was called 'Nazis Under Antarctica' or something like that and was, well, about Nazis under Antarctica. It was just nasty and didn't even have the saving grace of being silly fun.

I read today Iron Sky is a cult classic and is rated best comedy 2012 in some countries including NZ.. Haven't seen it yet as i forgot all about it. Gonna watch it this weekend.
Not bad for dumb style comedy/parody but gets boring as movie progresses.

Well I finally watched it last night and I loved it. It was exactly as I thought it'd be. My only regret was that I had to watch the first half on a 14" telly before the wife's friends went and I could use the proper telly.
Can't wait four the parodies of the Downfall parody.
