Hi there,

I am wondering how to radio for supplies/escorts in Silent Hunter III . . . When I go to the Radio Station I can't seem to interact with it and when clicking on the Radio Operator he only gives me three options, none of which relate to calling for an escort or supplies!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Subsim Madgamer78. As far as I know you can't make radio calls other than patrol or contact reports in the vanilla game. Most of what you hear on radio is for effect. There may be mods for two way radio traffic, but I'm not aware of them. [Anybody?]. I do use WB's Mission Orders Lite v1.1, a great mod that cuts down on the amount of radio traffic.

Again, welcome. :salute:

It was put the manual that you could radio for supplies\escorts but for some reason it was left out of the game its self.

If you want supplies you have to go to a friendly port or a Milch Kuh.

As was said, if you want supplies you have to dock at a "port". That port can be any friendly port on the map, or a resupply ship on the map, or a resupply u-boat on the map.

Note that when you dock at any port that is not your home port, you will not be able to issue medals or qualifications or promotions for any of your crew that might have earned them - you lose them. Also note that you will not be able to modify your submarine equipment or torpedo loadout - you will get a default torpedo loadout.

You can overcome some of these limitations by using SH3 Commander which allows you to modify your crew.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and the replies, they are much appreciated!

What a helpful bunch of people you all are! It's a pleasant change from the vitriol and snarkiness I normally see on the internet.

Yeah I was reading the manual and it said I could radio for an escort and supplies, so assumed it was true. Silly me! ;)
