New to Sh4

Hey there guys. I am a well long term sh5 player and short term sh4 player.....I wanna try the sh4 u boat missions version but need help with the mods....sooo yould someone please post a stable necessary mod list to play the game with enhanced experience?? Thank you :D

Are you asking how to install mods as well or what mods are good?

I assume you are asking for good mods.You seem to enjoy playing in U-boats I would highly recommend Operation Monsun

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=134922 make sure that you follow the instructions to the T.I think that this mod is much better than Silent Hunter 5 overall.The files unzip into a double folder so you'll need to get rid of that or JSGME wont take them in other words it needs to be File>data file not File>file>data file.

Depending on your preference it will vary a but JSGME should look like this you must pick only one extra environment either the Med or Pacific:

OMEGU v300 Patch 7
OM_Med_Env

Just read the page in the link there are several options for this mod that is just the basic list.


If you want to try the US Navy you should try Real Fleet Boat or Trigger Maru Overhauled or Fall of the Rising Sun.

Well I am looking for good mods which combined together won't cause ctd's. I am looking for mods which will sort of enhance the realism of the game and the visual experience as well.

I know that sh4 is a pretty stable and solid game, but it's a completely new territory for me since I have spent all of my time on sh5

Monsun looks amazing......I will deffinitely try it, my only worry is that it will surpass the SH5 Atlantic campaign.....because if it does....I have just wasted money :P

Oh you wasted your money the only thing SH5 really has going for it is the sub interior and its higher graphical potential.That is why you are on shore leave look at your avatar before you post anymore.You can use every class of U-boat in OM there are even campaigns using a Type IID in the Black Sea and you can lay mines in some subs.Think of the money spent as having lead you to OM.I also have SH5 so don't feel left out.

So you are confirming my suspitions. Thanks again. Nothing left to do but try the mod and enjoy. It's really not about the money for me.....I'm just glad there is a solution, that I can finally play a great uboat campaign.

The black sea campaign and oh just everything about the Monsun mod sounds amazing :D

See some avatars only last one post or so others last for hundreds there is one called Wild night in Bangkok that everyone enjoys.Something different from most forums they originally
where supposed to reflect the reputation of the member you notice how the rank goes up with posts?Sometimes people do get special avatars that directly reflect that member or they asked for their own.

They really dropped the ball with SH5 which is lousy because I don't think they will making another Silent Hunter for a while.Good thing there are so many modders.
