While usually sticking with a modded SH3, or sometimes SH4, I now have tried SH5, because it was available on the DVD of a German gaming magazine. Without even starting the game in it's virgin state, I immediately installed the following MODs:

- Magnum Opus
- NewUIs_TDC
- Open Horizons II
- German mod for Magnum Opus, NewUIs_TDC and Open Horizons II

So far, so good.

However, how big is the replay value of the game with this setup? When I finish the campaign in 1945 (thx to OH II), does it make sense to start the campaign again, or would just everything be repeated (same missions, same ships, same convoys, same weather, same positions etc.)? (I.e. is SH5's campaign just a good looking, but static SH2 campaign?)

Also, are there any mods which randomize the names and the biographies of the crew members? Their faces, 3D models and dialogue options can stay as they are (because I don't talk with them), but just seeing different names and biographies on the crew page would be nice.

Trevally.

The campaign objectives would be the same every time.
SH5 uses ME2 to run the campaign and this allows convoys to do their own thing.
So in SH5 a convoy is told to start here and go there - but how it does that is up to the ships - so it would be new each time
