I started a career playing TMO 2.5 "Terrible T" campaign. During mid patrol in December 1943 I was re-based to Pearl Harbor. I arrived there and shut down the game. When I went back in I departed Pearl in January, 1944....or so I thought....however I noticed all the forward refuel/rearm bases were missing.

I checked the game date and it stated July 1, 1942. I exited to main menu, went to "entered port" save....departed and got same thing. I next went to pre-port at sea save, entered Pearl, departed same thing again.

I would put it off as just a text bug in the dates, accept for all the forward bases missing, and the Japanese still in control of the Solomon Islands.

Operational orders; January 3, 1944..... Depart on; July 1, 1942

Has anyone played TMO 2.5 from the beginning or the war past January 1944, or more specifically played the "Terrible T" campaign past that date?

Could it be a corrupted career, or maybe a TMO "Terrible T" issue?

It sounds like they though you didn't sink enough tonnage and are sending you back to try again.

"BE MORE AGGRESSIVE."

As to your question, haven't gotten that far yet.
You might try sailing around for a few days, till January, before making port and see if that helps. That has fixed a couple of other strange things. :06:
There seems to be some date issues at work here.

Wow, bummer. You got caught in the Pacific's version of the Bermuda Triangle.http://i1045.photobucket.com/albums/b456/archangel501/Smileys/ad8eb853.gif Try a transfer and see if that helps you find your way back to the present tense.:D

I have yet to see a possibility to transfer in the "T" campaign. I will try Magic452's suggestion and cruise around a bit.....maybe refuel/rearm at midway and ask for more orders. Go back to pearl after a double ended patrol.

Strange thing is my boat remains the same, I can go back in time with 1944 technology. :D

EDIT: I refueled at Midway, completed 3 more missions....went back to Pearl....got my operational orders on February 11, 1944............Departure date; July 1, 1942.

Loved the whole idea of having a Tambor for the duration of the war. Guess I'll install RSRDC which overwrites the "Terrible T" campaign and go back to taking the boats I am assigned.

Sounds like a known issue. There was a documentary (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080736/) about such events made a while back. Seems there was a problem involving time travel and Pearl Harbor.

Short answer, avoid any strange weather condition that looks like this:

Also, you might want to not install the flux capacitor upgrade in your sub. :nope:

Sorry, Donna. Just another one of my stupid jokes gone to pot.:D

No problem WernherVonTrapp.....any reply is a good reply. I just don't know that much about PC's and was hoping someone would have some answers, with a little guidance I do know how to get into files and make changes.

I was just wondering if it's me and my game, or if anyone else has run into this problem. :)

I realize it's been a while since anyone's posted here, but i suppose it's worth a shot if it means saving the campaign that i've worked so hard on until this point. I just ran into this bug a few minutes ago, and i'm wondering if anyone ever found out how to fix this?

It would really suck to have played the entire war and then get put back in 1942 just before the end of the war. I was really looking forward to getting the full experience of the entire war, and all of the different technologies and difficulties introduced along the way. any tips would be great.

oddly enough, i too was assigned to patrol area E3 for 5 days when the bug first appeared. currently in game it's August of '44, and my departure date is July 1st, of '42.

Thanks!
Evan

Sounds like a problem with the dates alright.

It doesn't take a lot of looking to find the dates throughout the game are not as they should. Anyone who's looked under the hood of SH4 can find lot's of issues with dates in-game. Patrol missions, equipment refits, introduction of new ships into play, all need dates to start\end their life span. Some of the most outstanding oversight on dates is simply having too many days in a 365 calender year. I've found many dates, like the month of September, having 31 days in them. February, April, June and November also can have this misprint of added days in the game. The problem is, if a computer can do anything...... it's capable of accurately counting how many days there are in a year. If the software says a calendar year is 365 days, yet added days in a month count out differently, you'll have a problem.

Ducimus did a fairly good job of fixing these as they were discovered, although I found several within TMO 2.5 that have been missed (I'm sure I missed some too). So the issue is in the dates. I'm guessing it has to do with the specific campaign patrol that's in TMO.

Hi,

Same situation here, tmo 2.5, arrive in pearl harbor 23 December 1943 after a good tonnage , and starting a new patrol 1 June 1942:wah:

I have checked out my management crew, only to see if I have some Emmett Brown in the control room but nothing

Anyway, there's a valid fix? If not, what can I do?I don't really want starting a new career again, and finish with the same thing

Thanks in advance
