When do Install OHII 1.6? Do I have to wait till I am in port? Also do I put in after, NewUIs_TDC_6_9_0_ByTheDarkWraith and FX_Update_0_0_19_ByTheDarkWraith, because it wants to overwrite some of those files. I tried to install it out at sea and it deleted the camo on my sub.

Install in this order:
- FX Update
- New UI's
- OH II (Install in bunker and start a new career)

Starting New Career
Just click "New Campaign" - enter your name and select the first campaign "Coastal Waters". Skip the tutorial.
When starting a new campaign using OHII - DO NOT PLAY THE TUTORIAL - you will get a ctd when returing to Kiel at the end of the tut. Select "Skip Tutorial" when starting.
If you are not getting an option to skip the tutorial when starting a new career, go to Documents\SH5\data\cfg\CareerHistory.cfg and edit the file with Notepad. Change the following line:
HasCompletedTutorial=false
with [/COLOR]
HasCompletedTutorial=true
------------
Note:
When you are in the Bunker - check that you can get to ask the officer for upgrades. If this option is greyed out (this normally happens when you progress to a new campaign or use the silentotto trick) - save/load to fix.
If you do not do this your game will not show a loading screen when you enter your boat. If this happens - dock straight away.
Leaving the bunker like this, the game will fail to load properly and weird stuff can happen, including CTDs.

So I would have to start new campaign? I couldn't do it in bunker and continue with current campaign that I was playing?

Yes, start a new campaign
missions / objectives are date/time related, OHII also includes secondary missions. These missions/objectives will probably not load if a current campaign is continued

Yes Flostt is correct:yep:
If however you are far into your campaign and do not want to restart - you can install in the bunker.
You will only get some of the changes that the mod makes - ships etc will be added, but no campaign changes.
When you then progress to the next campaign stage (i.e. Happy Times) - the full change will happen then.
So if you are near the start - then a new career would be best
If you are will into it - install and wait for the upgrades to happen:up:

Yeah I am going to do that, I am still on first campaign stage. I haven't made it to Happy Times yet. I hate to start over, I will definitely have to try this.
I tired OH II full version last night, started a new campaign just to see how it would run. I got very bad frame rates getting out of bunker in Kiel, like 12fps max. I guess I can't use that version. Now when I tried OHII base + new ships I was getting 16fps and when I took out the new ship, I was getting 25-26fps. Do the new ships take up that much system resources. I know it lags when I look at new ships in harbor through binoculars.
I also tired OHII - light version, I get about the same frame rates as just as OHII - base. I notice OHII base mod adds more than the light version. My question is, are the frame rates later on down the road going to get impacted by the more things in the base version than the light version?
The base version seems more interesting, because its has those extra convoys and wolf packs.
My system specs are:
Windows 7 64bit
9800 GTX +
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+ (3.0GHZ)
4GB Ram

When you are within 30km of any harbour you will get a fps drop - even more so at Kiel.
When out past that distance - it should improve:up:

I am at my new home base, Wilhelmshaven and loaded the game up with OHII full version. I works nice, no lag or noticeable drop in frame rate. I guess Kiel is a bigger port with more buildings and ships around.
I was working on South Western approach, but I guess after adding the mod, it drops the amount of tons for that area. It use to be 100,000 tons and now its 20,000 tons, which I already have done on first round. So I can't do that mission anymore.
The mission that comes up now is Scapa Flow. On my way there I encounter a convoy being escorted in the Eastern Bristol Coastal waters area, which I rarely see in that area. I attack the convoy, only 2 of my 4 eels hit there target. I have IRAI installed and the escorts do a good job pinning me down. They are depth charging not to far away from me, they can't seem to find me, which is good. I make the mistake to go to periscope depth to fire my apt tube and they spot my periscope. I fire and dive, but now they know where I am and I can't shake them. They DC me until I dead in the water.
I never had in past with this or other silent hunter series been DC liked that. I've always have had 1 or 2 escorts from a convoy break off and attack me. While one would leave the other would stay a while, then eventually it would leave too. I never had 3 on me while 1 directed the whole thing. Not all the escorts came after me in the convoy I attacked. Only the ones on the starboard side of the convoy come after me, which is where I attack the convoy from. The others stay with convoy.
I must give credit to the moder who made IRAI and also OHII, they revamped up my experience. I must now step up my game to do some damage to allied shipping.

I've ran OHII base + envormental mod and game runs normal. When I the new ship one the game runs slow. Wondering why it does that?

When you use OHII full or with new ships - there is an extra layer added to the game that adds traffic to the ports. So if this is happening within the 30km radius this is the most likely cause.
You pc specs should handle OHII full with no problems:hmmm:
Check out you shadow settings in the graphic options in main menu and try to turn down a wee bit. Also try vsync on or off.
Antilag mod may also help if you dont use it already:up:

Is it mostly sea traffic? I do notice more boats. Does it fix the boats acting weird, like they don't know where they are going? I see one or two boats in a weird place that looks bugged out, stuck in a way.

No convoys and single ship traffic is the same in all OHII vesions.
The version with new ships will place harbour traffic (using the new ships).
"Weird places and looks bugged":wah:
This is a long story to explain - so here is the short version.
Patroling ships in shallow water will get stuck (I still have to fix this)
Also sometimes docked ships may be too close to piers etc (this is due to the spawn ship node - this will take time to fix, but I will):D

Yeah I believe the stock version of SH5 does that, the ships get stuck.
I'll play without the extra traffic in ports, I like the added frame rates without it at the moment. Good to know what the ship mod of OHII does.

Will these new ships be out at sea in convoys or alone? Or are the new ships just specific to the port areas?

You will see the new ships all over the map. they will form part of convoys etc:up:

Yeah I decided to just run OHII - Full, even though Kiel is a lag. I figured I would only be there the most two missions. I do like all the ships around while I'm in route to a patrol. OHII - Full kind of reminds me of what GWX did to SH3.
