Now that the price is down, no online required, I'd like to get it... but to be honest, after reading all the MODS that would be needed to make it run OK makes me kinda lazy... How much time more or less is needed to get up all the mods and start playing? and is it worth it? Some of the lists I see here of mods is daunting and overwhelming!!!

You might want to check this thread to see what some others think.

The general concensus among those who play it is that it is well worth it.

What Sailor Steve said, Javigato.

Do check out that thread and also make sure to check out the link in there to Trevally's "beginner mod suggestions" thread.

You don't actually have to load up all that many mods to "fix" the game, TheDarkWraith's new UI mod will pretty much take care of any major issues and give you a lot to play with on top of that, but I think that, once you try that one and take your boat for a spin, you'll find yourself cooking up mod soups like the rest of us.

Anyway, your mileage may vary. Just don't be daunted by the mile long mod lists that some of us use, quite a few of them are merely fixes to uniforms, sounds, immersion, environment etc. that, while certainly worth it to add, aren't critical as such. You can always add more later and, with JSGME, even that's as easy as 1-2-3.

Plus, if you hit a stumbling block, you can always count on this community to help you out.

Well, there are alos people like the TDW or SOBER or TREVALLY which are really helpful guys that can help you choose a mod loadout, but hey bro.....you know you're gonna have to put some effort in it.
It took me about 6 months of fiddling around to get things to where they are now but the point is I learned something new and I am loving it :D

The rewards are more than worth it plus all of the mods get updates which makes the game even more realistic and stunning.
