I know the torpedo speed one is, which others are broken, just want to make sure I don't invest in those.

Actually, most of the skills are broken in some way. The tropedoman's skills that increase the torpedo speed are the most glaring.

Total Revealing is a "magic" skill that basically allows the 2WO to work submerged.

The Radioman has a skill to reduce the range penalty for darkness.

Dieselman's active skills should damage engines slightly.

Battery charge rate altered to force use of Dieselman's battery charge skill.

Increase Engine Speed is completely unrealistic as it extends range, as well.

Navigator's faster turning speed allows rudder aspects that were physically not possible.

Navigator has skill to increase hull depth. Crush depth with zero points in this skill is actually too shallow.

This is just for starters. There are plenty of threads that address how broken the entire skill system is. Likewise, there are a couple of mods that address the issue.

but I have reduced the effect of special abilities even more than in Sobers mods. Mine effects last only one hour and the cost of moral is larger. :salute:

Just to confirm, are you guys saying that the problem where the TDC would always be 'wrong' because of the torpedoman's torpedo-speed increasing skill was never fixed via official patch and we still have to rely on user-made mods to remove the speed bonus to make it match up?

Correct. Stock does not factor the speed boost into the TDC for shooting solutions. They will always be wrong and you will overshoot.

Are these the active abilities that are screwed up or both passive and active? I haven't really used any points on my active abilities, mostly my passive.
