I was on my first mission when i encountered something odd, i surfaced to find no-one on the bridge, flak or deck gun (when im at battleststions) and clearly it says they are there, but i just don't see anyone. Is this a glitch?
If it is can anyone tell me what to do? I hate seeing the bridge empty.

Probably a glitch, try loading an older game save, that usualy does it. :salute:

What mods are you using? Where are your crew on the crew management screen? You must provide details before anyone can help you.

The bridge crew should appear when you surface as long as they are in the proper slots on the crew management screen, but the deck and flak gun crews will not automatically go to the guns (even at general quarters). Most often general quarters meant that the boat was prepared for making a torpedo attack; surface gun attacks and such were the exception, not the rule.

True, but the gun crews should automatically go to their guns when you order "Man the guns". That was something that worked in SH3 that they "fixed" for SH4.

:hmmm:Hmm, sounds similar to the CO² bug. Just out of curiosity, did you experience a CTD or Alt/Tab out of the game before this happened? Did you try a Save & Reload?
TorpX is right; a little more info wouldn't hurt.

OK, I don't remember being able to do this. I would have to decide which crewmen I wanted on the gun and drag them over. Do you mean you leave them there all the time, or that the game moves them over when you push the right button?

No, sorry for the confusion. I mean that in SH3 all you had to do was click "Man the Deck Gun" and it would happen. In SH4, which has better crew management in general, they managed to break it so it doesn't work anymore. You have to move them now. That's why I put the "fix" in quotes, meaning they didn't fix it, they made it worse.

Ahhh. I should have realized that. I thought maybe it was a mod I missed out on. :03:
