Four days opld now buit I reckon the US can claim the moral high ground with ease:
The US Navy has rescued 13 Iranian fishermen being held by pirates in the Arabian Sea, the Pentagon says.
The 13 were rescued on Thursday after a distress call was received from an Iranian fishing vessel which had been boarded by pirates over a month ago.

Good job :DL
And I hope the Iranians had a special treatment by the USN. Nothing is worse than getting chocolate and a XL meal from an enemy :DL

A U.S. Coast Guard cutter rescued six Iranian mariners from a vessel in distress in the Gulf, the second time in less than a week that the American military has come to the aid of Iranians at sea, an official said Tuesday.
...
Pentagon press secretary George Little said the Iranians aboard a cargo dhow about 50 miles southeast of the Iraqi port of Umm Qasr used flares and flashlights to hail the cutter Monomoy at 3 a.m. local time Tuesday. The vessel's master indicated that his engine room was flooding and "deemed not seaworthy," Little said.

The statement quoted the owner of the stricken dhow, Hakim Hamid-Awi, as thanking the Monomoy crew and saying, “Without your help, we were dead.”

Btw Tehran wasn't quiet about rescuing their mariners from pirates. Unfortunately it lookslike they did their utmost to avoid using words "thank you". :DL
Iran's government on Saturday welcomed the U.S. Navy's rescue of 13 Iranian fishermen held by pirates, calling it a positive humanitarian gesture.Fars(si)* with its usually hardline ofcourse downplayed whole episode.

allah works in strange ways. The hand of allah grabbed the coasties and guided them to the rescue.
And thus it was written:
And thus, allah appeared to his servant in a dream, barak al bigspender, and said "Barry, command your man servants to rescue my people and I shall reward you."
And allah's servant said "What ever you want michelle, when's dinner going to be ready?"
And allah screamed at barak al bigspender, then threw a pot at him.
And barry did rush to the telephone and called the Coasties and did command them to rescue the chosen people of allah.

Nah, it's just that you go flying into your 'Obama rage' in just about any topic imaginable. Just turn it off every once in awhile, Big Niki. You can't possibly be that one-dimensional.

That's strange, the news articles I read had very nice things being said about the US by the Iranians... pity we can't seem to return the favour.
Big Niki.

when it comes down to it, I'm sure they were all brothers on the high seas; and either side would have come to aid each other if able. We just happened to be there to help, not matter how "evil Iran is" or how ever much Obama "spends" or sounds like he's Muslim (but still no matter hard hard they try isn't).

The only negative comments around seem to be from the Iranian revolutionary Guards Farsi language media outlet which says the Americans are over dramatising a routine maritime incident(regarding the coast guard and the fishing boat with engine trouble)
