I see that I have two spare torpedo's on deck and some stored internally. The box to automatically load them is checked. How do I get the external ones to load? I'll surface, stand idle for a while but they wont load.

drag them into an empty spot. (Not an empty tube)

also be sure you dont have the crew on silent running (easy to forget)

its been a while for me but i think you will see the clock running to know its in progress

my torps won't drag. :damn: anyone know if mods impair this?
i found i can drag a torp if i exit to menu and restart, but it won't start the transfer. i am attempting stopped in calm seas at night.

That's funny, I have never seen any spare torpedos on my decks. I have often wondered about it. Mind you, I haven't progressed in the campaign so perhaps that is the reason.

Yeah, I'm wondering when the external spares become available. I'm in Dec '39 so I really have but a few patrols under my belt but I never have read when those external spares come around.
Does anyone know?
As for as the actual graphic of a torpedo storage, I'm not sure if this is shown as a graphic at all. I don't think I see them in SH3...

They avaible on VIIB and VIIC boats. Looks like other torpedo slots, just above deck.

I'm not even sure which boat I have, though going on what you said it must be a VIIA.

It indicates with text that there is external storage on the sub-systems, but there are no slots there.

Is it possible to chnage it in the middle of a campaign?

The more tonnage you sink the sooner you will get a new boat.
By the time you get to happy times - you should have a type b

There are mods to force a type c/41, but you would need to start a new career.

Does anything inhibit the transfer of external torps in the VIIb besides being desks awash/surfaced, not on silent running. I'm on my 2nd campaign, nigh on 1m tonnage yet every so often the ext spares won't transfer. I'm running Sobers mega mod bundle and am wondering if weather/sea conditions and/or morale levels are a factor.

Any clues guys? :)

When working, you can watch the torpedo loading progression bar in your torpedo window tab.
Give them enough time, or accelerate X64.

Done that. They just won't drag. Do they have to be transferred as a pair? I've been trying to load the fwd spare on its own.

No you can't load them into the boat as a pair. Drag one then the other to the internal spares slots.

When you can't get them in, the only thing other than what's been mentioned could be injured crew. Doubtful that's the cause but check by talking to the crew you can. It will show in the upper right of the box in red if they are injured.

Other than that, i don't see why...:-?

But what mods are you using? It can be a corrupted one :yep:

I think this is just a bug that is in the stock game with one of the u-boats. Im sure also that it will fix itself when you reboot the game and/or dock/end patrol:hmmm:

Remember also. You can't transfer the aft external torpedo to the forward internal slots or vice versa ( forward external to the aft internal slot). I tried and it wont work because they are facing in opposite directions.
