Hi all
I have a problem when I install the mod using JSGME. When I play there are lots of grey ships, both ghosts and traffic ones. I suppose missing textures or something similar. I searched before in google and here but I haven't found the answer. Hope you can help.

Welcome to subsim U67:salute:
If you go to the museum from the main menu - do the ships show ok?
Graphics card:hmmm:

Thanks Trevally, especially for the quick answer ;)
No, it happens in the museum too, its the same, seems that the textures of various ships are not loaded, I think just the new ones added by the mod appear all in white. Maybe I will try to reinstall the game, strange. Graphics card works well for my other games, drivers updated. Don't know what can be.

Try another Gfx driver for your nvidia card

I have seen this grey ship issue talked about on the German Ubi forum - not sure if anyone found and answer. I will ask.
Let us know if you make any progress:up:
Ok, I hope so. As you know the base game its just :damn: looking forward for the mod.
Cheers ;)

I too have grey ships....Hope there is a answer as this looks like a great mod..
I have tried everything including a reinstall.
Not all ships are greyed out but most...Like first mission starting out the aircraft carrier is fine but the ship right out side the pen is greyed out??
Thanks

Thanks guys:salute:
I have been searching all the old posts for the reason and fix for this.
But, I have had no luck.
I am really not sure what is the cause.
So with any luck perhaps Rongel or Uekel may see this post and know a fix:up:

Are you guys using full or part with ships?

This may be off topic, but one question Trevally. On some of the merchant ships that were added with OHII (full version), the AA guns and light cannons have that grayed out color. I can only spot this in the Museum, but I think it's there in campaign too. Do this happen to you too?
You don't need to worry about fixing it very fast, because as I said, you won't notice this during normal gameplay, but just to let you know :03:

I have spoken to Urkel about this and although OHII addes SH4 ship in a diff way from Uekel's mod - he can see nothing wrong with them.
So still not sure why some people with 512mb graphics cards are having this problem.:hmmm:
If anyone using a 512mb card and have no issues with ships - please let us know:06:

Just a couple of thoughts. A common cause of this problem is older video drivers. I noticed you have an older card - a 8800 GT. That that in itself can cause missing textures. But have you been to nVidia and downlaod the latest drivers?

Sorry, a lot of time without reading this, thanks for your answers jason210 and Trevally. Yes I had the latest nvidia drivers installed so I suppose this is not the problem. :wah:

I suspect this may be an LOD issue. I get the odd 'grey' ship as well, when seen at range - but if I free cam closer, or move the sub closer, the 'proper' texture pops in a few hundred metres away from the ship. I've not checked in the museum though.
I run 8g of RAM & a 1.25gig GPU with the latest drivers, so it's not a memory or driver issue - I had the same thing with 2x HD5770s and saw no change when I upgraded.
Those of you seeing grey ships - try moving the free cam or sub closer to the grey ship & see if the texture 'pops in' when you get closer. If it works, maybe there's a way to extend the LOD to draw those ship textures further out than current.:hmmm:
