Playing SH5 on 6850 card using the preview 12.1 driver (Win 7, 64-bit). No crashing so far one week into the game. Have you tried other drivers?

Which Mod have you enabled ?, how much RAM have your computer ?, sometimes the CTD are due to lack of memory RAM

I have the Asus EAH5870 V2 with the original disk drivers inside the Video card box, 8Gb of memory RAM and never had CTD

Seems to be a common problem, search for other threads here. The CTDs may be caused by "Visual C++ 2008 runtime". Hope this helps...

thanks a lot,

well, even without any mod the problem is the same,
cpu 9950 quad
4gb ram
4870 asus
2+2 terab wd hd

dont think this can be a memory problem... ;)

4GB is on the way low end of the scale for SH5 modded. 8GB is more like the norm you need (and a 64bit OS to use that RAM)

thank you win764it of course...
anyway i don't think it is memory... it was fine with winxp32bit and 3gb and it was fine with the same config up until update, then stop... the last moment the saved (or new) game was loading-> crash!

i'll look if i can find an old version of the drivers...
:salute:

probably something updated your Visual C++ runtime. I would check that also.
