View Full Version : Allowing Ad's to support Subsim
I use Addblocker plus to block adds however some may not know that there is a feature to allow adds on a specific site like subsim.com for example.
Allowing Ad's to support Subsim:
If you click the Addblocker plus icon in the browser a dropdown list appears. Tick the "Disable on subsim.com" line.
The ads on Subsim are not imposing and they help support the site. Furthermore, if you do this you will feel good because you're doing the right thing :)
I searched Subsim for this topic, couldn't find one, so I thought I would make one. It is okay to delete this if I missed it... lol

Thank you and thank you, that is the nicest thing to do. Yes, that single banner ad can pull in big for Subsim, if not blocked.
Plus, it's kinda a neat feature to see what ads are displayed based on the post content.

Hmm. I see the ads but never click on them. I guess I have a New Year's resolution after all. :sunny:

I kinda like the ads cause since they are usually on topic, they actually add to the site.

IIRC Every time they are displayed it generates $... or rather ¢.

SubSim is actually one of only three sites I don't block ads from.

Slightly less disturbing than the ads from the Russian Brides, and Arab Girl Dating sites... :hmmm:
hmm, wonder how this works when using NoScript?
Subsim is already on my whitelist, but it looks like the amazon-adsystem is not... I guess that's the banner in the top rh corner, but not the one on the lhs, which is not showing at all.
S'pose that's because it blocking the script that runs the ad inside the page :-? that looks to be googlesyndication.com

yup, you also have to allow googlesyndication (besides subsim obviously)
What I find interesting is that the ads don't show up on Opera - I haven't blocked any stuff from subsim with it.

Just by being displayed, you do not have to click on them.
Many thanks for asking! :salute:
